B i o g r a p h y

Canadian-American Soprano Alicia Reid is a performer and voice teacher based in the Triad area. She holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Vocal Performance from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Recent roles include Maria Rainer in The Sound of Music with Creative Greensboro, Cinderella in Into the Woods with Lexington Live, and Phoebe in A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder and Glinda in The Wizard of Oz, both with Community Theatre of Greensboro. Operatic roles include Queen of the Night in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, and the title character in Little Red Riding Hood, a children’s outreach opera with the UNC Greensboro Opera Theatre. Alicia has also performed in several productions with Piedmont Opera, including the title character in Pauline Viardot’s Cinderella, Shepherd Boy in Tosca, First Spirit in Die Zauberflöte, and various ensemble roles. In 2022 she was a semifinalist in the National Musical Theatre Competition in New York City, and sings with Bel Canto, a professional choral ensemble in Greensboro, North Carolina. Alicia is also a classically trained harpist, and has seven years of experience teaching voice, piano and harp lessons.
